TCAT routes facing slight changes due to construction

Tompkins Consolidated Area Transit has announced some minor changes in service due to construction projects beginning in August.

Route 13: Willow Ave. railroad tracks closed to traffic

Due to construction, Norfolk Southern’s railroad tracks at Willow Ave. will be closed effective Mon. Aug. 1, Tues., Aug. 2, and possibly Wed., Aug. 3, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Vehicular traffic, including TCAT’s Route 13, will not be able to access TCAT’s and Gadabout Transportation Services, Inc.’s facility at 737 Willow Ave. from Willow Ave. during those time periods.

TCAT and Gadabout will be staging their buses in Stewart Park from where employees will be shuttled to and from the TCAT facility. Administrative offices will remain open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to accept phone calls and answer email inquiries at tcat@tcatmail.com. You may also contact TCAT at www.tcatbus.com/contact/feedback.

TCAT expects minimal disruptions and apologizes for any inconvenience.

Route 15 re-routes around Plain St.

Due to paving, Plain St., between Clinton St. and N. Titus Ave., will be closed effective Monday, Aug. 1, prompting the detour of TCAT’s Route 15. The project is expected to be completed by the end of September.

The outbound Route 15 buses will use Geneva St. to N. Titus Ave. to Plain St. (back onto normal route.) The inbound buses on Route 15 will use N. Titus Ave. to Geneva St. (back onto normal route) to Green St.

Also, a temporary bus stop relocation is located at Geneva St. and Clinton St. in both directions.
