The Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce formally presented four separate awards on Thursday, Jan. 25 in several separate categories, including Distinguished Business of the Year, Non-Profit of the Year, and Entrepreneur of the Year, as well as the Howard Cogan Tourism Award.

The Ithaca Tompkins Regional Airport took home the Distinguished Business of the Year award for its “strategic management of this critical transportation asset and continued investment in Tompkins County,” according to the Chamber website.

Non-Profit of the Year award was given to the Friendship Donation Network in recognition of their commitment to reducing food waste and supporting hunger relief programs. This is the Network’s 30th year as a community non-profit.

Managing Partner of Rasa Spa, Rachel Hogancamp, took home the Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the expansion of her services in both Tompkins and Cayuga County. Last year, Rasa Spa collaborated with the Inns at Aurora to develop a second location.

The Howard Cogan Tourism Award, named after the creator of the “Ithaca is Gorges” slogan, is only given out occasionally. This year Tom Knipe, Tourism Program Director, was presented with the award.
