Professional building going up in Lansing

The new building going up two doors south from the Triphammer-Peruville Road intersection will be a 12,000-square-foot, single-story, mixed-use facility aimed at bringing professional services closer to the center of Lansing.

“Our goal is to attract professional people – like a doctor or a dentist – to the building,” Andy Sciarabba of SEE Associates said. “The building is zoned B-2, which allows any sort of commercial work.”

Sciarabba said that the building has signed one tenant and is in talks with another.

The shell of the building should be completed by the end of January, allowing interior work to continue through the winter months. Paving the building’s 48 parking spots will come with the spring, leading to the building’s opening thereafter. The building is estimated to cost around $500,000, per the site development application.

SEE Associates consists of Sciarabba, Tony Eisenhut and Eric Eisenhut. The development partnership owns the Lansing Market, as well as the “No Barks About It” building and the building across North Triphammer that houses “The Next Jennaration” dance studio, Elevate IMS and NovaSterilis.

The partnership had owned the land where the Mirabito Convenience Store and Dunkin’ now stand and owns two other lots being considered for development — the five acre lot between the new building and Franklin Drive and five acres across from the Lansing Market.

“We want to do what’s best for the community,” Sciarabba said. “We are going to take our time.”

Sciarabba also took a leading role in developing The Rink and The Field recreation facilities on East Shore Drive, but that was done outside of SEE Associates as a non-profit effort.

As an aside, Sciarabba confirmed that the ice at The Rink is back to normal.
“We took the ice out and warmed the floor,” he said. “The curlers are ecstatic.”
