Island Health & Fitness launches premier fitness club IGNITE

Island Health & Fitness proudly announces the reopening of their Community Corners location (903 Hanshaw Rd.), with the addition of their brand-new premier fitness club, IGNITE at Island! IGNITE is a premier fitness club focused on building strong and resilient communities. Their all-inclusive approach to fitness will boost real-life performance. Their customized fitness plans will include functional training, conditioning and active recovery designed for your goals. This approach allows members to work out more frequently, avoid injury, maximize performance and see faster results. Classes are an intimate size to allow for personalized adjustments, progressions and coaching from our highly educated personal trainers, motivators and instructors. Operations and Programming Manager Stephanie Wright has been working with her team to conceptualize IGNITE since last April. Wright shared, “Our goal for IGNITE is to take a sustainable approach to fitness. By offering comprehensive cardio, strength and recovery workouts, not only can we make sure members reach their fitness goals; they will also enjoy a better quality of life. Our Build classes will strengthen and sculpt through functional HIIT training, our Burn classes will burn calories and boost endorphins through cycling, and our Breathe classes will provide active recovery and strength through yoga.” General Manager Steve Brandt said, “It’s thrilling to be a part of this new adventure for Island. This reopened location will also require all members, employees, contract staff, students, volunteers and visitors to be vaccinated to enter, like our downtown location.” On Jan. 3 at 4:30 p.m., join Island Health & Fitness and the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the reopening and the launch of IGNITE!
