Letter to the editor: All the protection we can get

Dear Editor,

America has always had disagreements between Parties. Its part of democracy, it is why our Constitution guaranteed freedoms of speech, assembly, and the press. Trump has now pivoted to the “Enemies Within”. He discusses using the military to arrest/detain the ‘enemies within’. He isn’t talking about people who have committed a crime, he is talking about loyal American citizens who oppose him. Since courts actually need a crime they would be tried by military tribunal. No one would be free to report the truth or fact check him. Is this America or Russia or Nazi Germany?

It is not an idle threat. As President, he ordered DOJ and IRS to go after Clinton, Biden and others political opponents. General Milley said he is a fascist to the core..

He could well win re-election and what will stop him? The Supreme Court is corrupted and gave him unprecedented immunity. The Republican Congress will not stand up to him. They elected a Speaker who will not commit to certifying the winner of the election. Elect a Democratic Congress to check him. Turn your ballot over, vote yes on Prop1. We will need all the protection we can get.
