Chalk Art Festival will be held in Dryden
Hereos will come to life in the Dryden High School parking lot when professional chalk artist Eric Maruscak joins the Chalk Art Festival, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, May 29.
The Dryden High school Art Club and Parents Promoting Positive Change invite the community to experience Eric’s amazing artistry and create their own. A themed chalk art competition for cash awards and prizes is open to kindergartners through adults.
These two community supporting organizations have worked together to bring a day of art, music and celebration to the Dryden community while raising funds for Dryden art student scholarships.
This family friendly event, including artists, musicians and vendors, is free and open to the public. Four local bands will keep the atmosphere festive, beginning with Dryden math teacher Frank Raponi at 10 a.m.; Fall Creek Brass Band at 11:20 a.m., Merryland at 12:55 and Lucey’s Hooch at 2:30.
There will be art for all ages, as caricature artist Jim Coones joins the festival, along with graffiti artist Jay Stook. The Dryden Town Historical Society will present the works of Dryden publisher and artist A. K. Fletcher.
