Katy Walker announces candidacy for town of Ulysses supervisor
Katy Walker announces her candidacy for Ulysses town supervisor, pledging transparent leadership, community focus, and support for local businesses.

Running under the ‘Ulysses United’ party, Ulysses resident Katy Walker is challenging Democratic candidate Katelin Olson for town supervisor.
Community advocate and long-time Ulysses resident Katy Walker has announced her candidacy for town supervisor, pledging to bring collaborative leadership, transparent government and a focus on strengthening the local economy and quality of life for all residents.
Walker, who has been actively engaged in town committees and grassroots initiatives for years, says her campaign will center on making government more responsive to the community it serves.
“Ulysses is a town full of creativity, resourcefulness, and resilience,” said Walker. “As Supervisor, I will work hard to ensure our local government listens to its residents, supports our farmers and small businesses, and protects the natural beauty that makes our town so special.”
With decades of small business ownership and community organizing in Tompkins County since 1979, Walker brings both practical know-how and a proven commitment to civic engagement.
Her priorities include:
- Fiscal responsibility: making prudent budget based long term planning.
- Transparent and responsive community leadership that actively encourages, and listens to, public participation.
- Recreation for all that balances both community needs and logistical realities.
- Support for agriculture, local businesses and working families.
- Investments in infrastructure and services that strengthen community life.
“As Supervisor, my door will always be open,” Walker said. “I believe in solutions shaped by listening to neighbors and working together. The challenges we face — from housing affordability to climate resiliency — can only be met with inclusive, forward-looking leadership.”
The election for town supervisor will take place on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
