The Cornell Wind Symphony, conducted by James Spinazzola, presents a concert highlighting the influence of Cuban music and, more specifically, the clave. Music includes Morton Gould's Guaracha, Guido López-Gavilán’s Obertura Bandida, Carlos Henriquez’s 2/3’s Adventure, Ernesto Lecuona’s Danza lucumí, and Roberto Sierra’s Montuno. Stucky Ensemble-in-Residence Splinter Reeds will be on hand for the world premiere of Viet Cuong’s Second Nature Concerto for Saxophone Quartet in a new arrangement.
