The 27th annual AIDS Ride For Life raised over $130,000 for the Southern Tier AIDS Program, with 150+ cyclists from across the country participating.

155 participants from across the country ride in the annual bike ride fundraiser.
More than 150 cyclists braved the elements for the 27th annual AIDS Ride For Life held on Saturday, Sept. 6.
Beginning at 7 a.m. at Stewart Park, participants came together in support of the Southern Tier AIDS Program (STAP), riding routes ranging from 14 to 100 miles around Cayuga Lake.
Together, riders and donors raised over $130,000 for STAP, with donations still coming in through the end of the year.
“Despite the cold and rain, the feeling out on the road was incredible,” said Kayla Thomas, special events coordinator at STAP. “You could sense the pride, the joy and the determination of our riders at every mile.”
This year’s fundraising event drew riders from across the country, including from California, Colorado, Indiana, Kentucky and North Carolina.
“I often hear riders say that this event restores their faith in humanity — and it’s true,” said Thomas. “To see so many people come together, whether to honor a loved one, support STAP’s mission or challenge themselves physically, is nothing short of magical.”
As The Ride community celebrates another successful year, STAP extends its deepest gratitude to every rider, donor, volunteer and supporter who made the day possible.
Riders and supporters are already encouraged to mark their calendars for next year’s AIDS Ride for Life, set for Sept. 12, 2026.
All money raised goes directly to STAP — funding services for HIV/AIDS and other chronic illness patients, LGBTQ+ youth at the Identity Youth Center in Binghamton and Syringe Exchange participants. In 2024, The Ride drew 256 participants from across the country and raised over $150,000. The Ride For Life 2025 presenting sponsors include CSP Management and Molina Healthcare.
