Beginnings Credit Union recently announced the opening of applications for its annual Richard V.V. Stringham Scholarships, Walter Bazyldo Scholarships, and Community Service Awards.

High school seniors and full-time college students throughout Central and Western New York are invited to apply, as part of Beginnings’ commitment to the success of local youth.

“Beginnings is proud to continue its support of local area students who are striving to better themselves and our communities,” said Katie Foley, vice president of marketing and sales at Beginnings Credit Union. “In 2025, we awarded over $54,000 in scholarships and awards, and we look forward to expanding access to these opportunities for students across the communities we serve in 2026.”

Richard V.V. Stringham Scholarships recognize high school seniors who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and extracurricular and community involvement.

Walter Bazyldo Scholarships are awarded to high school seniors and full-time college students based on a variety of factors, including financial need and academic performance.

Community Service Awards recognize high school seniors who exemplify excellent volunteerism and community mindedness.

All applications and requirements must be completed and submitted by March 20, 2026. All scholarship and award winners will be announced and notified in May.

Beginnings Credit Union, founded in 1953, serves nearly 77,000 members. With $1.4 billion in assets and 15 locations, Beginnings is one of the largest credit unions in New York State.
