Career conference for high school students coming to TC3

The Groton Career Center is hosting a “Future Focused” conference for high school students on Jan. 10 at TC3. It will cover all things college, career, and life readiness and include over 100 students from Groton, Dryden, Cortland, Lansing, and more.
After lunch, there will be a “Young Professionals Career Fair” in combination with a “College Uncensored Q&A Panel” with current college students. Students will be split into two groups (approx. 50-60 in each) and switch them after 30 minutes. The Career Fair/College Panel will start around 11:20 a.m. and finish at 12:30 p.m.
The career center is looking for passionate professionals with dynamic and interactive booths that will engage students at the Career Fair and give them hands-on experiences in your field. The goal of this event is to provide students with a career exploration experience and introduce them to a variety of fields. This is not a recruiting event, though some students may be seeking opportunities.
The career center is looking for booths that have:
- Interactive activities (demos, simulations, job-like tasks, mini-challenges)
- Engaging Visuals (displays, handhelds, tools, tech, videos)
- Career Insights & Student Interaction (students will be asking questions while completing a Career Fair Bingo game to help them better understand the tasks/skills required, career path options, and advice. Please ask them questions as well!)
