Comedian Kevin Farley Comes to Trumansburg

Comedian Kevin Farley will appear at Cedarwood Event Venue (formerly Brews and Brats) for an evening of laughter on Thursday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. Photo provided.

Comedian Kevin Farley is making a stop on his current comedy tour for a special evening in Trumansburg. Farley, the younger brother of the late comedian Chris Farley, stars in “Grumpy Old Santa,” a holiday comedy currently available on Amazon. A sequel is in the works, with filming set to begin early next year.

The actor/comedian is headed to Cedarwood Event Venue (formerly Brews and Brats) for an evening of laughter on Thursday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. Local comedians Don Jerkins and Mike Brindisi will open the show, with Trumanburg’s Foxy Goodstone as guest host.

The Wisconsin-born Farley splits his time between the Catskills area and Florida. “There’s a lot I love,” Farley said about living in New York, adding that he enjoys the slower pace and natural beauty.

He’s had a long career of making people laugh, appearing in movies such as “The Waterboy,” and “Joe Dirt,” among others. Farley has also had guest appearances on HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Hawaii Five-0” and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.”

Although the pandemic paused his comedy routines, Farley is excited to be back on the stage, ready to entertain audiences on his tour and at the upcoming event. As a comedian, he shares that he tries to find humor in even the worst situations.

“Obviously, one of the most important things in my life is to find a way to laugh,” said Farley. “I just think it’s important to get a little time and set aside a few hours to have a little fun.”

Farley said that he draws inspiration from simply trying to get through daily life.

“I just try to lighten things up a little because I know everything and everyone is so serious and people get so offended,” he said. “I just think it’s important to not take everything so personally.”

Cedarwood Event Venue will provide a full bar, with various drink specials available for purchase. Tickets are sold as tables, with limited individual tickets, giving groups an option to sit together. Audience members must be 16+ to attend.

Dinner will be available from 5 to 6:30 p.m., prepared by Billy Bobber’s Reef N’ Beef before the show begins. Prime rib dinners will also be available as pick-up to-go orders from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Note that dinner will be served only from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

“I can’t wait to see you guys up there,” said Farley. “Hopefully people come out and have a good time.”
