East Hill Notes: A Bounce in Our Steps

By Gary Stewart

A few days back, Cornell Community Relations staged the annual and very well-attended Town-Gown Awards, a.k.a.. The TOGOs, previously previewed in this space.
In an era filled with too much angst and anger, it was an extraordinary morning of thanks and good cheer, featuring Tompkins County’s three new higher-ed presidents, top-notch town-gown partnerships, and a salute to community leaders who have retired from or are leaving their elected or appointed positions.

There was no darkness nor cynicism, but a bright light shed on all that is right in Ithaca and environs, on the hills, in the valleys, with our youth, leaders, and volunteers, and through a dedicated service for the common good.

Take a look at some images from a morning at Ithaca High School that put a bounce in our collective steps. All photos were taken by Jason Koski of Cornell University Photography.
