The Ithaca Farmers Market is hosting the 33rd annual Ithaca Artist Market event on Saturday, Aug. 8, from noon to 7:30 p.m.

The free-of-charge event is for all ages and will be held at the farmers’ market location on Steamboat Landing, 545 3rd St. in Ithaca.

The event is stylized as a show and sale. It will feature more than 80 local and regional artists showcasing fine and functional art, with some writers, and local arts groups, food, drinks, music, a boat tour and other activities.

Visitors of the event will have the chance to meet artists and explore paintings, drawings, fine art ceramics, altered books, photographs, mosaics, art quilts, blown glass, fine jewelry, collage, etchings, relief printing, children’s book illustrations, wood-turned items, paper cut art, art lamps, sculpture and more.

“I am always blown away by the quality and variety of work by the exceptionally talented artists in our region,” said Robin Schwartz, the program and grant director for the Community Arts Partnership of Tompkins County. “Visitors always have a wonderful time seeing it all, and hopefully will find fabulous art to buy and take home.”

The East Jazz Group will provide live music during the event, and there will also be 10-minute performances by local musicians.

Organizers of the Ithaca Artists Market are asking those looking to attend the event to fill out a registration form. Names will be entered into a raffle with a chance to win more than 15 prizes.

A full list of participants, further details and registration can be found at ArtsPartner.org.
