Kathleen Sepos Tucker
11/01/1952 – 02/27/2024

Of the many beautiful gifts Kathy offered the world, two stood out. Kathy loved openly, purely, and deeply. Her family and friends feel the enduring power of this love. Kathy possessed a presence that allowed her to appreciate the surrounding beauty and welcome it into her heart. Be it a friendly conversation (with anyone she would meet), the comfort of a beloved pet, a sunny day on Lake Cayuga, an imperfect houseplant, or a laugh shared with a companion, Kathy recognized its value in the universe and appreciated her connection with it.
Kathy graduated from IHS, married, and moved to Maine where she earned her Nursing degree. Kathy returned to settle in Ithaca and cared for many aged patients over the years at Kendal and in private care. “Nurse Kathy,” as her patients called her, was adored for her intelligence and thoroughness, and her heartfelt, knowledgeable care.
Kathy had many loves – traveling, her American Indian roots and culture, turquoise jewelry, and making earrings for friends. Kathy loved strong women and had special affection for the most powerful in her life – her mom Cora, her aunt…and Joni Mitchell. She loved her pets, especially her cat, Wink, and her dog, Dewey. Kathy loved Lake Life.
Kathy was a wonderful, beautiful friend who will forever remain in our hearts. Enjoy remembering her when you are in nature when petting a beloved pet, or when listening to Joni Mitchell.
If you care to give in Kathy’s name, please consider the Office of the Aging.
“…someday you will see my reflection in the crystal surface of a lake and you will know the true meaning of my love.”
– K. Tucker, 1974
