Letter to the editor: In Support of Katy Walker for Ulysses Town Supervisor
Lex Enrico Santí endorses Katy Walker for Ulysses Town Supervisor, praising her vision, transparency, and community leadership.

Katy Walker.
My name is Lex Enrico Santí, and I am proud to call Trumansburg my home. I was raised in Ithaca, graduated from Ithaca High in 1994, and have lived in Ulysses for the past thirteen years — first on Perry City Road and now in the village. I’m a therapist and founder of A Key Therapy, a father, a published author and, above all, a neighbor who cares deeply about the future of this place we share.
I’m writing to voice my strong, heartfelt support for Katy Walker for Ulysses Town Supervisor.
In a world that often feels chaotic and divided, it’s easy to forget that communities like ours are built not by ideology but by relationships — by showing up for one another, by caring about how things get done, and by believing that good sense and good humor still matter. In Trumansburg, we take pride in that balance. We’re creative, yes, but also practical. We argue a little, we laugh a lot, and when something’s broken, we roll up our sleeves and fix it.
That’s the spirit Katy embodies.
Katy has always welcomed my family with genuine warmth. She’s the kind of neighbor who listens first and speaks with purpose. She knows this community not as an abstraction, but as a living, breathing network of people — people who love this town, who pay attention, and who want to see it thrive.
What makes Katy stand out is that she’s not just thinking about what’s in front of us — she’s looking ahead. She understands that our future depends on both creativity and responsibility. We need leaders who can hold those two truths at once: that change is necessary, and that it must be thoughtful.
We all feel the strain of higher costs and heavier tax bills. What Katy brings is the ability to ask, How can we do better? — not by pointing fingers, but by thinking creatively, bringing people together, and making decisions that strengthen our community long-term.
As a therapist, I see how much people yearn for trust — trust in one another and in the systems that serve them. Katy leads in a way that restores that trust. She’s transparent, she’s engaged, and she listens with empathy. She’s unafraid to bring humor and humanity into civic life — which might be the thing we need most right now.
Katy Walker is a leader for today and for the future — someone who can balance creativity with clear thinking, compassion with accountability, and vision with good old-fashioned common sense.
Let’s choose a future that reflects the best of who we are. Let’s choose warmth, connection, and responsibility. Let’s choose Katy Walker for Ulysses Town Supervisor.
