Letter to the Editor: Congressman Reed, be fair to Tracy Mitrano

Congressman Reed:

I called your Washington office this morning to say that 10/27, your proposed date for debate with opponent Ms. Tracy Mitrano, is some kind of farce or cruel joke.

Fairness, respect for your constituents, Ms. Mitrano and the memory of RBG demand an earlier debate. Key election milestones will be past by 10/27. You show disrespect for Ms. Mitrano, a woman, in a manner I imagine that Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a fighter for equal rights, would have found appalling.

The issues today, especially for women, are too important to ignore. Congressman Reed, set an earlier date for debate. You can show public respect for the memory of RBG and commitment to equal rights. Get real. Stop trying to fool us. Give us an earlier debate date. Can we count on you, Congressman Reed?

Sincerely,

Bill Gilmore
