Letters: Koplinka-Loehr for Lansing’s (District 6) legislator

With 12 years as a county legislator (District 11) and chairman of several of their committees, a previous school board member, plus three years on the TST BOCES Board of Education representing Lansing, and a former member of the Town of Lansing Economic Development Committee, Mike has a wealth of experience that will be put to good use for Lansing and its residents.

Mike’s four years as chairman of the county budget committee, in which county taxes were lowered, speaks well to his sound fiscal management of tax dollars. Mike will bring more representation and a broader involvement of Lansing to Tompkins County government. This will give Lansing a better voice and more leverage in county decisions and more benefits and services to town residents.

I have seen Mike operate up close, and he is open and respectful to the concerns of all town residents across the political spectrum. In this polarized world, more consensus building is a tremendous asset. I see Mike as a person who can do just that for the benefit of the entire town.
