Letters to the Editor: Time for a Village Vote

On Tuesday, March 20 there will be an election for the Trumansburg mayor and two village trustees. Local government manages all of the municipal services provided to the community. During this time of national chaos in our government, it seems especially important to focus on our home community. I’ve been following what’s going on in the village and I want to urge you to vote for Ben Carver and Ben Darfler for the two village trustee positions. They are both running on the Democratic line with two single-issue independent candidates running against them.

I have been impressed with what Ben Carver has been doing to understand the challenges facing our EMS and feel confident in his continued presence on the board after already serving four and a half years as a trustee. This past fall I needed to use emergency ambulance service and was thankful that our village had such a responsive service. Ben Darfler is already proving a great asset to our community providing videos of village meetings and other events he attends. I appreciate this service as I cannot attend many of these meetings but want to stay in the loop. Both are committed to the future of Trumansburg.

I hope everyone will vote on March 20, from noon to 9 p.m., and I hope you can take a few minutes to impact the future of our village.
