With school out of session and summer ready for kickoff, the Inn at Taughannock Falls is ready to dazzle with an Independence Day firework show.

The establishment has hosted the firework show for Trumansburg for the past eight years.

“We’re very excited to provide this service, especially this year, since we are the only firework show in the area,” said Michael Griffith, director of hotel operations at the Inn at Taughannock Falls. “The hotel is located just seven miles from Cass Park on Route 89, and our restaurant offers the finest lake views around.”

The Inn at Taughannock Falls is also available for dinner reservations on the Fourth of July and Thursday through Monday dinner service throughout the season.

Griffith gave some tips for those looking to take in a great view of the firework show.

“Since we are the only firework show in the area on the actual holiday, it is best viewed at the Taughannock Falls State Park, our neighbor across the street, or from the water via boat on Cayuga Lake,” he said. “The state park will be charging a $5 parking fee the night of the show.”

The show is expected to start once it’s dark, around 9:30 to 9:45, and should last about half an hour.

The Inn at Taughannock Falls’ wedding venue, Enchantment, which opened in 2021, will host a private party this Independence Day holiday in addition to its usual slate of activities.

The special venue also serves as a location for Tuesdays at Taughannock, which started this summer. The weekly event, open to the public, offers a gourmet hamburger and chip combo paired with a beer or wine for $20. Vegan options and weekly specials are also available.

“Everyone is welcome to enjoy their meal in our spectacular wedding garden by the majestic outdoor fireplace or another fire feature as they enjoy the views of Cayuga Lake and the background music,” said Griffith.

He added that the property will host around 100 events this year, ranging in size and cost, and that the venue is excited for the upcoming fireworks event.

“We wish everybody a fabulous Fourth of July, and we hope you enjoy the exciting pyrotechnic display we have planned!” said Griffith.
