Dear Editor,

This letter is to support Tom Corey- line F, Bull Moose Independent Party candidate for District 10, Tompkins County Board of Representatives. District 10 covers the villages of Dryden , Freeville and surrounding areas.

Tom is a brilliant, well rounded, thinking person, do it yourselfer, Shakespearean actor, former Dryden Trustee, and former  business owner.Tom has provided an amazing service to his church congregation by providing online broadcasts of worship services to over 200 viewers a week. You will not meet anyone with a deeper knowledge of current events. He has the wisdom to understand what works and what is wasteful Mr. Corey relates to those of us who are aghast at the misplaced priorities of local government and the high cost of those priorities. He cares and will bring a new sense of frugality to County politics.

Tom’s opponent, Dan Wakeman, is a good example of what I’m referring to. Dan is a good person. His many years of community service and Scout leadership are well established. We can’t attack him personally. But, my goodness, what was he, as Deputy Mayor, thinking when he and fellow board members raised village taxes to such an extreme degree?? My taxes rose 57 percent from 2023-2025. I have the receipts to prove it! Dan has to own and answer for this. He and fellow village board members have failed to control costs for years.

Tom Corey needs your vote. It is time for change!

-Fred Stock, Dryden
