Tompkins Trust Company holds grand opening for new building

Tompkins Weekly Staff

After years of planning, and almost two years after breaking ground, the Tompkins Trust Company has officially opened their brand-new location in downtown Ithaca. The evening event on Wednesday, June 20 was well attended by leaders from across the spectrum. Local political representatives, entrepreneurs, business leaders, and more gathered at the new building that will house all three branches of the company. In total, the project cost $39 Million dollars and includes numerous state-of-the-art features to make the building sustainable. Already over 300 employees have moved into the new facility.

Following a ribbon-cutting in front of the building, Wednesday’s party moved to the employee lounge which doubles as a public event space. Tours of the new building were given by Tompkins Trust employees, many of whom had the opportunity to offer insight and guidance on what the new building would include.

Correction: A original version of this story printed on June 25, 2018 stated that the building cost $3.9 Million dollars. The building actually cost $39 Million dollars. We apologize for the error.
